About the Artist

Bio:

With vibrant and expressive brushwork, my paintings are a celebration of the luscious, rich quality of oil paint. I am particularly drawn to the Alla Prima (wet-on-wet) technique, which allows me to capture the essence of a scene or portrait in a single session. My work explores three genres: portraits, landscapes, and abstracts. In my portraits, I strive to evoke the raw emotion, unique expression, and distinctive character of my models. My landscapes are an homage to the fleeting beauty of the natural world, while my abstracts are a playful exploration of form and color.

I studied art/communications in college and initially worked in magazines and print gradually transitioning into business analytics and project management. In 2009, I signed up for a community oil painting class and soon an avid and happy artist was revealed. Inspired, I started setting up Still Life scenes at home while honing my skills in color mixing, value and composition. In 2014 I began my journey as a Full-Time Artist and was blessed to find a local studio art group with whom I have painted weekly (2014-2019/2023 to present).

With each brushstroke, I hope to share a glimpse of sensitivity, passion, joy, and a bit of romance.

My artistic path has led me to southeastern Michigan, where I am now content and painting in my home studio.
