You Gotta Be

This Award Winning work is one of my favorites with its large features and expressive brushwork. This portrait was painted from life, our gorgeous model has big eyes, a long nose and full lips that shouldn't work together--but they do. I captured the emotion in her eyes--she is a hardworking young lady whose largest strength is her determined character hence the title - You Gotta Be. This painting won Second Place in the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors Juried Show in 2016. Size 18.5"x15" framed.
